February – May
In the spring semester, February through May, students from Mukogawa Women’s University English Department attend the Intensive English program here on the U.S. campus. These are four-year university students majoring in English. Their goals are to improve their English language skills as much as possible, and to learn everything they can about American culture.
For many of these students, this is the first time they’ve traveled abroad and lived away from their families. During this semester, they have a chance to enjoy dormitory life with friends, watch winter turn to spring on our beautiful campus, learn to like some American food, and get to know a bit about Americans. They also take a wonderful one-week trip to the East Coast to learn even more about the U.S. Some of the spring semester students elect to return to Spokane in the fall for our Extension Program.
All students have the wonderful opportunity to experience a homestay with an American family during their study abroad. Additional homestays are also available during Easter.
