Ikebana, Japanese Flower arranging classes

$35 for 5 lessons!

at the Japanese Cultural Center 

Learn how to make Japanese floral arrangements called Ikebana.

Classes will start on Monday, August 4th and held every Monday at 4pm into November at the Japanese Cultural Center located at 4001 W Randolph Rd.

This class will be taught by Ellen Krehbiel. For $35 you can pick any 5 classes or you can pay for each class separately at $7. Classes will need to be prearranged to prepare materials for class. No classes on Labor Day and Sept. 8th.

Your floral arrangement can be taken home for you to enjoy afterwards.

 Obon Festival

July 26 - 27

at Spokane Buddhist Temple 

Annual Obon festival at the Spokane Buddhist Temple, for more information check out spokanebuddhisttemple.org

There will also be bon odori dance practice held for anyone interested too!



August 2nd & 3rd

Spokane Convention Center

KuroNekoCon is a yearly anime, gaming and Japanese culture convention that is family friendly and open to all ages.

This year it takes place at the Spokane Convention Center

on August 2nd and 3rd.





Youth Delegation Tea Ceremony—October 9th

Time is not determined, but this will be a formal tea ceremony with students from an Urasenke Tea school from Japan.
